Rashid — a doctor from Syria — struggles to adjust to his life in Canada after five years in Toronto’s Thorncliffe Park with his wife Farah and son Ammar.
He tries to work as an unlicensed doctor for his neighbors, but when Farah becomes more involved in their local community, tensions in their fragile marriage begin to take their toll.

His short film credits include film festival prize winning short films Bad Omen (Bronze - 48th Annual Student Academy Awards) and Oracle (Festival Nouveau du Cinéma 2019 - Canadian Grand Prix). In 2023, Nikolay was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talents Camera Studio.

Nikolay's work has been screened at film festivals around the world that include the Berlinale, TIFF, Cinéma du Réel, BAFICI, and New Directors/New Films in New York. In addition to his narrative works, Nikolay has shot award winning music videos and commercials with various brands.
